As Filipinos we should be proud to know that our own PNoy won PublicAffairsAsia’s Gold Standard Award for Public Communications for his administrational platform in promoting government transparency and accountability.
The Gold Standard Awards is PublicAffairsAsia’s flagship project. PublicAffairsAsia is the network for senior government relations, public affairs and corporate communications professionls operating across the Asia Pacific region. They offer news, features, analysis, intelligence on practice and policy through PublicAffairsAsia magazine, online channels, intelligence and high-level events, roundtables and conferences.
According to the PublicAffairsAsia director, Craig Hoy, “These awards celebrate the achievements of corporations, governments and NGOs and identify those professionals, consultancies and governmental figures who are driving this important process of engagement and partnership in Asia Pacific.”
PNoy was nominated by EON, the country’s pioneering stakeholder firm. The CEO of EON, Junie del Mundo shares that “We nominated President Aquino because we believed that he is the person to drive lasting change within the political landscape of the Philippines. It’s a great thrill to see that our efforts have translated in a concrete result not just for the President, but also for the country,” Del mundo was also a part of the board of judges for the said award and joined the awarding last January 20, 2011 in Hong Kong.
