What’s Up, Z?

PhotobucketHave you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a post-apocalyptic age? Imagine a world where zombies walk the planet – when grocery shopping becomes a life-threatening exercise rather than something you’d do on a random Sunday.

Do you think you’d have it in you to survive?

Well, maybe a little preview is in order. Let’s take a trip down what popular culture has to offer on the topic. I find that the best way to handle the end of humanity is to know exactly what you’re about to deal with.

Movie

Zombieland (2009)

Check out this zombie apocalypse comedy for a fresh round of tips on how to fend off these nasty flesh-eating monsters. Starring the likes of Jesse Eisenber and Emma Stone, this movie just might be your salvation ticket when the actual need arises.

TV Series

The Walking Dead

Think about this: a small group of survivors against billions of infested scum. This comic book turned horror television series is sure to keep any one at the edge of their seat. Let’s just hope you viewers are strong enough to stomach the gore that’s about to overrun your screens.

Books

The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks

The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks by Max Brooks

World War Z by Max Brooks

From a survival guide to an oral history of the zombie invasion, Max Brooks has it all covered. The author (who happens to have been  a writer for the hit show Saturday Night Live) leaves no rock unturned. Let’s hope all of it is enough for us to combat the undead.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls by Steve Hockensmith

What happens when the classics take a turn for the ugly? Catch the famous Bennett sisters as they teach the world how real women deal with this kind of problem.

Did that prove useful readers? I’m brushing up on my kung-fu as we speak (with the Cranberries blasting on my stereo). You may never know when the plague will hit.
